February 13, 2013: Big Horn Ranch is sponsoring a Photo essay contest to draw attention to the reasons we protect our precious watersheds. What we do today as stewards of these fragile resources affects everyone downstream and for as long as the earth rotates.
Join us in our passion to show why we do what we do. On a daily basis we are tasked to quantify our efforts and measure our successes by miles of stream cleaned, feet of streambank restored, tons of manure nutrients recycled, dollars of grant money applied... lets look up from our computers for a minute and ask..."what is a child's smile worth, what is the value of a soaring Monarch?"
Participation is so simple. Take a muddy day lunch break this winter and flip back through your photos of work or play you have done in a Pennsylvania watershed, and drop us a photo at MichaelWright@BigHornMeats.net . If a person is in the photo, I will need to know that you have consent to publish the photo. On July 1st, we will pick the photo that best suits the cover of an upcoming book that will be published next winter. The winner will recieve a $250 grass fed meat package from Big Horn Ranch and a signed copy of the book. Other photo entries will be used throughout the publication with a copyright in the photographer's name.
